Proceeds from the sale of Her Best Foot Forward products facilitate girls education - including through our own initiative UhuruPads (Tanzania's first compostable sanitary pads). In support of this effort, we're pleased to offer CYCLE CIRCLES (or CCs) beaded bracelets featuring five bold colors to help young women just starting menstruation tune in to their cycles—so they can feel confident each day. The order of the colors in a CC provides a guide as to what can be expect during different phases of the menstrual cycle.
About Our Action Kits. On your own, with your family, team, or group, buy and make CC's to donate as a menstrual cycle tracking tool for girls in East Africa. CYCLE CIRCLE ACTION KITS come with:
- Beads and cords for stringing
- Instructions for stringing
- Details for returning your CC’s for donation
We will distribute your completed CC’S as tools as part of our UhuruPads education program. PLUS, kit purchases also fund the distribution of our locally made (creating jobs for women!), eco-friendly pads and panties.
How Many Should I Order?
That depends on who is waiting to make them! One person can make 5-6 bracelets in an hour. Here are our basic guidelines:
13-Bracelet Kit: a great project for one or two friends to make in an hour or so. Proceeds from this kit fund a 1-year supply of menstrual hygiene products, as well as panties and education program for one girl.
25-Bracelet Kit: many hands make light work—or one person can make these over a day or two! Proceeds from this kit fund a 1-year supply of menstrual hygiene products, as well as panties and education program for two girls.
50-Bracelet Kit: More ambitious —but what a fun way to engage a larger group in this important issue for the dignity and understanding of girls! Proceeds from this kit fund a 1-year supply of menstrual hygiene products, as well as panties and education program for three girls.
100-Bracelet Kit: You Go Girl! We want to hang with you and your crew (one person can make about 4 bracelets in an hour)! Proceeds from this kit fund a 1-year supply of menstrual hygiene products, as well as panties and education program for seven girls.
Do I Have to Send Them Back; Can't I Keep Them for Myself/My Friends? Of course not! These bracelets are yours to keep or service that you can return to us in support of girls in need. Whatever you choose, we appreciate your willingness to help.
Do I Pay for Return Postage? Why? As a small organization, we appreciate every penny we can save, pouring these funds back to support women and girls in need. We request that you return the completed bracelets to us as a further act of services (and provide the packet to allow you to do so. If it would be a hardship for you to do so, we are happy to work with you to provide return shipping.
